This purple iris was the star of the show in my garden last Spring and I can't wait for it to bloom again. There are these small necessities in life. Having a library and a garden for instance no matter how small is a great privilege. You need real things to go on living. Actual paper books that you can hold, living flowers that bloom and wilt, the smell of rain on damp soil, wind in the trees next to your bedroom window. The greatest comfort of all is peace and a warm bed with crisp clean linen. Despite the promise of progress, the world has become too ugly, too fast and too chaotic and it is by design. Whose design was this?
